Laura F. Macom
Laura Macom was raised in San Antonio and is a 1986 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s of Journalism. She went on to attend Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, where she was named the Outstanding Advocate of her 1997 law school graduating class. She was a recipient of a Collins Clerkship from the Dallas Bar Association during which served as a summer clerk for the Honorable Justice Sue LaGarde and the Honorable Justice Frances Maloney at the Court of Appeals for the 5th District of Texas in Dallas. After her graduation, she served as a briefing attorney for the Honorable Justice Tom James, also at the Dallas Court of Appeals.
She returned to her family roots in San Antonio in 1998, and since that time Ms. Macom has practiced litigation in San Antonio and throughout South Texas in the areas of products liability, commercial litigation, and professional liability defense.
Ms. Macom is an active leader in the San Antonio community, serving as the 2008 Chair of the San Antonio Women’s Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the San Antonio Women’s Pavilion at HemisFair Park and sits on the Executive Board of the Incarnate Word High School Parent-Teacher Organization. She is a devoted member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church where she and her husband are the founding coordinators of the Adult Bible Study program and members of the ACTS community.
She resides in San Antonio with her husband Carl and their two daughters.
